Non-surgical spinal decompression treatment.
Stabilization of supporting structures by incorporating rehabilitation exercises to strengthen muscles that support the spine with continued spinal decompression treatment.
Strength, stabilizers, and core rehabilitation exercises to help bring back full health of the spine with continued spinal decompression treatment.
Spinal Decompression Therapy is a non-surgical, comfortable treatment for the relief of secondary conditions such as: low back pain, neck pain, and radiating arm leg pain, Herniated Discs, Bulging Discs, Spinal Stenosis and Discopathy.
Spinal Decompression involves using a motorized traction table to gently stretch the spine (this is NOT the same as a Traction). The procedure, cycles through distraction and relaxation phases. This motion adjusts the position and force of the spine, alleviating pressure from the gel-like discs that act as cushions between the vertebrae. In fact, this motion creates a vacuum effect in the discs. This effect is known as negative intra-discal pressure, and its primary benefit is that it helps bulging or herniated discs to retract while promoting the movement of oxygen, water and nutrient-rich fluids into the disc. The delivery of nutrients, in particular, promotes healing in degenerated, torn disc fibers.
Thrive Chiropractic offers the finest spinal decompression equipment available in Amsterdam and our team has extensive amounts of experience in delivering this therapy to patients.
Spinal Decompression Therapy is not recommended for everyone; however, every patient is evaluated on an individual basis.
With harnesses secured at the trunk and pelvis, a fully clothed patient lies face down or face up on a computer-controlled traction table that is operated by the licensed chiropractor. The doctor customizes the treatment, which alternates between traction and relaxation, based on the patient’s specific needs. A typical session takes between 20 and 45 minutes, and most patients undergo 12 to 20 treatments across a period of five to seven weeks.
Please bring all exam findings to your first consultation (MRI, CT scan, X-ray,…).
