Chiropractic Care

Chiropractic Care focuses on improving the function of the body by correcting any alignment abnormality or motion abnormality of the spine. Your nervous system controls everything in the body. Making sure it is working without interference from the spine is very important and the bread and butter of what we do. Without normal Nervous System function, your body simply won’t work properly. That means your immune system, digestive system, musculoskeletal system, and every other part will be affected. By correcting the misalignments of the spine, chiropractors give your spine proper movement and help restore proper function to your nervous system so that your body can regulate and heal itself.

Why live in debilitating pain when your condition may be resolved without surgery. Non-surgical Spinal Decompression Therapy is a pain-free tool in our toolbox we utilize to aid in correcting Structural Dysfunction. The procedure may provide relief to anyone that has symptoms such as a pinched nerve, herniated disc, sciatica, lower back pain, neck pain or a variety of symptoms related to damaged or degenerative discs. Non-surgical Spinal Decompression therapy utilizes a computer-controlled contraction sequence of variable weight and tensions, to significantly reduce internal disc pressure. The DTS table promotes retraction of the disc herniation back into the disc and promotes intake of fluids, oxygen and other substances necessary for healing the disc.

Muscular / Soft Tissue Techniques

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) and Myofascial Release are techniques used to decrease muscle hypertonicity, break up “scar tissue” or adhesions, decrease pain and address fascial restrictions. We use this to aid in correcting muscle imbalance, decrease recovery time and restore proper muscle recruitment and firing patterns.

Postural Assessments & Movement Screens

Our Postural Assessments & Movement Screens are powerful diagnostic tools for detecting deficiencies in basic movement patterns. We can uncover weaknesses, imbalances, asymmetries, and limitations. From there, your chiropractor can assign postural corrective techniques and customized exercises to retrain the body in corrective movement patterns. We also use this as a reassessment tool to monitor your progress years down the line.

Applied Kinesiology

Applied Kinesiology utilizes the manual muscle test to dynamically assess one’s neurological state. The chiropractor can then treat the patient accordingly and check to see that proper signaling to the muscle and proper muscle response has been re-established.

Functional Rehabilitation / Corrective Exercises

Rehabilitative / Corrective exercise focuses on allowing the body to function at its best, in the most mechanically sound & safe way in order to correct a specific dysfunction. Our goal is to identify incorrect movement patterns caused by structural dysfunctions, weaknesses, muscular imbalances, hyper or hypo-mobility, asymmetry, poor movement habits, etc. The exercise(s) is to be practiced until the movement becomes natural and then more challenging exercises can be introduced to reinforce this movement pattern. Our program helps restore muscular balance, improve’s your body’s movement, core strength, flexibility and stability needed to prevent future injuries.
Structural Correction is a process, no different from attempting to get into good shape. You don’t walk into a gym, workout once (or even a dozen times) and expect to declare yourself to be in shape.

Diaphragmatic Breathing Drills

Poor breathing is usually connected with poor posture, overuse of the accessory muscles, physical stiffness, tense shoulders, a curved spine & a rigid pelvis, all of which disturb the natural balance of the body.  Forward Head Posture inhibits the proper movement of the rib cage resulting in mid back and neck pain. Therefore, when your breathing is out of balance the diaphragm, abdomen, spine, and pelvis are often out of balance.  Many of our patients find it extraordinary that they didn’t know how to breathe properly.

Anti-Inflammatory Nutrition

Low-grade chronic inflammation can be a key player in producing pain and a whole host of diseases in the human body. One of the best ways to decrease that inflammation is through our anti-inflammatory diet and the proper supplements.
