When is an adjustment necessary?
How do the Chiropractors at THRIVE Chiropractic determine when you need to be adjusted?
At THRIVE Chiropractic we focus on identifying and correcting Structural Dysfunctions in the spine. Using the latest diagnostic tools available we are able to determine the characteristics of the Structural Dysfunctions.
Allow me to give you an example of what I am talking about: A scientist, when identifying diseases, looks for certain patterns, behaviors, signs and symptoms. For instance, in Diabetes, common red flags are urinating often, feeling very thirsty, feeling very hungry – even though you are eating, extreme fatigue, blurry vision, dry mouth and itchy skin, cuts/bruises that are slow to heal, weight loss – even though you are eating more (type 1) and tingling, pain or numbness in the hands/feet (type 2). In addition, tests such as Blood Tests, Blood Pressure Testing, Checking your feet for nerve damage, are administered to screen and diagnose Diabetes.
Similarly, Structural Dysfunctions have certain patterns, behaviors, signs and symptoms. Once you understand the disease then you can look for the clues or indicators.
Common Signs and Symptoms include:
1. Postural Deviations (high shoulder, head tilt, anterior head posture, rotated pelvis, etc)
2. Decreased Mobility
3. Stiffness, Decrease in Energy, Neck Pain, Low-back Pain, Headaches, Burning between the Shoulder Blades, Muscle spasms and tightness.
How WE know when YOU need an adjustment?
For the Structural Dysfunctions in the spine, we use 4 primary indicators:
1. Spinal Exam
2. Postural Analysis
3. Scale Discrepancy
4. Fundamental Movement Patterns
This front line assessment, offered only at THRIVE Chiropractic in Amsterdam, allows the Chiropractor to determine whether a patient needs an adjustment, and afterwards, if the adjustment was successful in correcting the Structural Dysfunction.
Unlike conventional chiropractic or manual therapy where spinal manipulations occur on every visit, at THRIVE Chiropractic, we use the latest advances in technology to ensure that when we make a correction, it’s at the right place and time. This is essential for the stabilization of the spine as well as achieving a long-term solution for our patients.
Would your scab heal if you picked on it every day?
